Flat Fee Divorce Pricing
Every case is charged a flat fee so you know the cost before you hire us. No hourly billing, no surprise invoices, no open-ended retainers. You pay for a defined package of legal services, and the price does not change unless your case changes.
All fees include document preparation, filing, court appearances, and communication with the firm throughout the case.

How Flat Fees Work
Traditional law firms bill by the hour. That means every email, phone call, and document review adds to your bill, and you do not know what the final cost will be until the case is over. Some contested divorces billed hourly can run $10,000 to $50,000 or more.
We do not bill by the hour. Each package above includes a specific set of legal services for a fixed price. Your fee is earned upon payment and covers the attorney's time, preparation, filing, court appearances, and communication for your case. Filing fees and court costs are included in the total price and held in trust until used.
If your case changes — for example, your spouse refuses to cooperate after you start with an uncontested package — you move to the next tier and pay the difference. You are never locked into an open-ended bill.
Payment Plans
Uncontested packages (Tier 1 and Tier 1.1) must be paid in full before the case is filed.
Contested packages (Tier 2 and above) are eligible for monthly payment plans with a down payment and automatic monthly drafts. A 10% finance charge applies to financed balances.
Consultation
All cases start with a 30-minute consultation for $80, available by Zoom or in person at our Memphis office. The consultation fee is credited toward your retainer if you hire the firm.
During the consultation you will receive a clear flat fee quote based on the specifics of your case and a recommendation for how to proceed.
Questions About Cost
How much does a divorce cost in Tennessee?
It depends on whether the divorce is contested or uncontested and whether there are children. An uncontested divorce with no children starts at $999 including filing fees. Contested cases start at $3,500. These are flat fees — not estimates or starting points for hourly billing.
What is included in the flat fee?
All document preparation, court filings, court appearances, and attorney communication throughout the case. Filing fees and court costs are included in the total.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. The price you are quoted is the price you pay unless your case changes scope — for example, moving from uncontested to contested. Any additional fees are disclosed and agreed to before work begins.
Can my spouse be ordered to pay my attorney fees?
In some contested cases, the court may order one spouse to reimburse the other's attorney fees. However, you are responsible for paying your own fees to the firm regardless of any reimbursement order.
